A Case of Drowning Occurred as a Late Complication of Tracheotomy


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the determinants of the Sick role adaptation. The subjects of this study were 85 physically Injured who were hospitalized in Orthopedic Unit.
The data was collected in the date from Jan. 10 to Feb. 28, 1987 Using the questionnaire. Analysis of the data was done by use of percentage. Mean score, standard deviation,
t-test, F-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and chronbach¢¥s alphal reliability test. The results were as follow.
1. The significant determinants of the Sick role adaptation were age, religion, and marital status.
2. Between the Self Esteem and Sick role adaptation.
The research hypothesis; the higher self Esteem, the higher sick role adaptation was uphold. a) the first hypothesis; the higher Self Esteem, the higher expressive behavior was uphold,
b) The second hypothesis; the higher Self Esteem, the higher instrumental behavior was uphold.
c) The third hypothesis: the higher self Esteem, the higher dependency was uphold. d) The fourth hypothesis; the higher Self Esteem, the higher withdrawal from social role responsibility was not supported.
e) The fifth hypothesis; the higher Self Esteem, the higher attention to his body was uphold.
f) The sixth hypothesis; the higher Self Esteem, the higher compliance was uphold. 3. There was significant correlation within the sick role component, except the with-drawal from social role responsibility.
